일본실험동물학회에서 별첨과 같이 2007년도 JALAS International Award에 대한 추천요청 메일이 도착하였습니다.
이에 대한 후보자 추천을 부탁드립니다.
후보자 추천 후 학술상위원회에서 후보자를 심사하여 일본실험동물학회에 12월 25일까지 후보자관련 서류를 발송해야하므로, 우리 학회내부에서의 선발 일정은 다음과 같이 정하였습니다.
우리 실험동물학회원 중, 젊고 능력있는, 우리나라 실험동물학 발전에 기여하고있는 우수한 분을 추천하여 주시면 감사하겠습니다.

This is a letter regarding the International Award of the Japanese Association for Laboratory Animal Science (JALAS) that was established in 2001 based on the JALAS Asian Fund. Please find enclosed the Regulations Concerning the Asian Fund and the Agreement Concerning the Management of the Asian Fund. We would like to ask you to recommend one excellent young researcher in the field of laboratory animal science who is 35 years old or younger as a candidate for JALAS International Award 2007. The awardees for JALAS International Award shall be selected by JALAS from among the candidates recommended by the corresponding countries and regions. Accordingly, JALAS will present the International Award to excellent young researchers from Asian countries and regions including Bangladesh, China, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines at the annual meeting of JALAS which will be held in Sendai on May 15 to 17, 2008. The candidate must meet the following requirements:
1. The candidate’s research field must be related to laboratory animal science.
2. The candidate must be 35 years old or younger as of December 31, 2007. The candidate must submit a copy of his/her passport to verify the age.
3. The candidate must present the research accomplishment in a symposium at the annual academic meeting of JALAS in 2008.
The next JALAS meeting will be held in Sendai on May 15 to 17, 2008, under the presidency of Dr. Noriyuki Kasai, Tohoku University. We would appreciate it if you could kindly send me the following documents regarding recommendation of the candidate by December 25, 2007.
1. A letter of recommendation from the president of the Laboratory Animal Science Association of your country.
2. An abstract of the research of the candidate. Please see the enclosed sample abstract.
3. A copy of the candidate’s passport which shows the nationality, the birth date and the bust photo.
4. Please fill out the enclosed application form and send it to me. First, please acknowledge your receiving this email by just replying to it. It should be noted that the above documents must be received by mail (not e-mail) by the above deadline (December 25, 2007). It should also be added that the awardees will be given a testimonial and a bursary of \100,000 in cash at the annual meeting of JALAS to be held in Sendai in 2008.
