About the KALAS

The Korean Association for Laboratory Animal Science (KALAS) was established on 1985 in order to discuss the knowledge of the experiment, and promote the science and technology in laboratory animal sciences. Around mid-1980s, experimental animal science was introduced in Korea. Since then, researchers and experts in relevant field suggested the need for the exchange of knowledge and cooperation in laboratory animal science. This led to the establishment of The KALAS by Chang-Hyung Lim (First President) and Yong-Soon Lee (Secretary General) on May 1, 1985. At present, KALAS has 10,501 members.
